Calke Green

A traditional sage green

This rich and traditional green is a cleaned version of a colour originally found in the breakfast room at Calke Abbey. It is best used either on its own on both walls and woodwork, or with a darker neutral like Old White to enhance its deep sage notes. It is particularly suitable for smaller rooms and studies due to its dark and masculine feel.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Slipper Satin

Calke Green is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 153.

Back in 2010, we moved to an entirely water based range of finishes, becoming the first in the industry to do so. These low-odor, low-VOC finishes are easy to clean without harmful solvents. They also meet child- and baby-safe requirements in accordance with The Canada Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations, Canada Toy Regulations (SOR/2011-17) – Section 23 and ASTM F963 – 17 - Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety.

Our paint colours are available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint Tried several different greens from sample pots. Calke turned out to be the best shade for our room - not too blue or yellow. Also a lovely chalky texture, as with all F&B paints. And excellent coverage with two coats

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love everything about this paint. I never write reviews, but went out of my way to come back and leave one for F&B. I didn’t think house paint could really be different but this paint is amazing. Once you find the right color it turns out even better than you thought it would be. Because of the high pigmentation, the color shifts in the light and in photos, making it difficult to photograph but SO GORGEOUS. I also only bought one can for the room I painted hoping I could get away with two coats. Not only did it do three coats there was still a half inch of paint in the bottom of the can when I was done. It never dripped, hardly smelled, and glows in the sunlight. I’ll never buy any other paint.
