Archive Collection: Chappell Green

A subdued blue-green

Chappell Green is both slightly greener and more intense than Green Blue, but shares its changeable nature, reading blue when contrasted with warmer tones and green when paired with cooler shades. Very cheerful and welcoming, it is a great favourite for kitchens.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Mid Tones

Complementary white: Slipper Satin

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Our paint colours are available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paint When I opened the tin I discovered that it contained paint. This was was much as I had expected I considered adding a video to this review showing the paint drying - but I thought that this was rather predictable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best paint money can buy. There is paint and then there is Farrow and Ball Paint. A beautiful creamy consistency, goes on like a dream and doesn't run or drip. Produces a flat surface and dries quickly (I use a roller)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good results as expected I bought Chappell Green to refresh some outside windows and a very old storeroom door, it was very easy to apply and it covers well and our brushes were easily cleaned. It is several years since we applied the first coat of Chappell Green and it always looks smart and cleans easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely rich green with him of blue We matched this with Teresa's Green on the walls, Lime White on the ceiling and Chappell Green on the woodwork for my daughter's tiny bedroom. It's created a lovely cosy room. The new softwood bookshelves would have been a bit much in Chappell Green so I put a lime wax on them, which matches the ceiling well. I painted the chest of drawers in Chappell Green, leaving the top and drawer fronts as polished pine. It's a shame that Chappell Green has been discontinued though, of course, it can still be ordered for no extra cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favourite F&B colours This is a most beautiful colour with almost a lustrous quality. I have used it to paint a north-east facing porch extension, where it changes colour throughout the day according to the light. I also have used it to paint two large lantern lights in a kitchen/diner extension, and also the doors of the kitchen units. The walls and ceiling of the kitchen/diner are painted with Dead Salmon - the two colours compliment one another.
