Yellow Ground

No.218

A timeless mid yellow

One of our most useable yellows, this sunny shade was first used as a background colour within our ever evolving wallpaper collection. Yellow Ground sits between the fresher pigments of Citron and the richer mustard tone of Sudbury Yellow. It creates a happy and stimulating space in any light without being overpowering in colour.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: White & Light Tones

Complementary white: White Tie

Yellow Ground is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 49.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vibrant You can’t go wrong if you use the farrow and ball system (primer & paint). Yellow ground is vibrant and the colour changes depending on the lighting. The ceiling is painted in Wimborne white and the trim in white tie. The combination of colours lifted our dinning room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! I used yellow ground in my hallway & it was lovely. Just as the colour chart indicated. Painted the cupboard cooks blue & again a fantastic colour. Really rich and both went on like a dream. Definitely worth the money & I'm now converted so will use Farrow & Ball from now on. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colour is Perfect! After trying SO many variations of yellow this one was the clear and definite winner. Such a warm and rich colour that has made our bedroom bright and cosy! It applied so easily compared to other paints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bedroom colour A typically Scandinavian house colour that reminds me of Norwegian home decoration. So, some emotional attachment. I have used it as part of the conversion of one bedroom to a home office. The result: warm, vibrant and sunny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pot of sunshine! I had originally decided upon Sudbury Yellow for our downstairs hallway but my other half was nervous and preferred a shade lighter, so we went for Yellow Ground. Not going to lie, I did not like the first coat AT ALL and regretted going lighter. However, the second coat has transformed the look. It is a beautiful shade and looks as though we have sunshine streaming through our hallway. Really beautiful colour, the consistency is like an extra thick double cream (yum!) and I'm so glad I persevered with second coat. We also used the recommended undercoat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely warm colour for north facing room Bought this for our dull north facing home office. It brightens it up so much - very true to the online colour. Completely odour free too and only needed one coat. Liked it so much used in conservatory where it looks different and has more depth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous warm yellow Wanted a colour to lift a very dark hall, stairs and landing and this colour has absolutely done the job. Really lovely, looks gold in some lights and almost daffodil in others. Really pleased with it
