A strong dark brown
Our darkest drab is named after the artisans who tan the hides and skins used to create leather. Tanner's Brown will read as almost black in lower lighting and is extremely useful to create a slightly softer look when used on the interior of fireplaces. It does, however, become browner in colour within well lit homes and exteriors due to its warm red undertones.

Lovely finish, but colour not as expected
We saw a sample block in this colour at a Farrow and Ball supplier, and bought a sample pot which we tested in the location where the main coats were to be applied. The colour was a dark, rich brown as described above, however, when we bought a large tin and applied it, the resulting colour is more of a blueish/purpleish shade, and doesn't complement the other colours in the room so well. The undercoat we used was that suggested by Farrow and Ball. Otherwise, the dead flat finish we chose is really lovely for our woodwork- such a shame about the colour itself.

Amazing brand!
I have previously painted our staircase in the darkest brown I could find (Conker) which wasn’t actually that dark. Until I found this and knew I had to repaint it all (totally worth it!)
The colour is the deepest brown with no weird undertones that I found with other brown paints. It literally looks like dark wood which is just what I wanted and please do not be put off with the price of this small tin! A little definitely goes a long way. I painted a whole staircase, radiator cover, small radiator and a coat hook with it and it’s made the corridor look so much more classy!
Definitely recommend!! 5*
