A chalky off white

This popular off white takes its name from the delicate colour of silk used in traditional ballet slippers. Without cool blue undertones, Slipper Satin often reads as a pale grey chalk which makes for a perfect neutral on walls with darker Old White woodwork. Pair with other shades from our Traditional Neutrals for a subtle and sophisticated scheme.

Complementary white: Wimborne White

The finest ingredients

The finest ingredients

We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.

Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good.
– Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder

We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Deeper, richer colours

Deeper, richer colours

Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.

We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. The same space that feels bright and airy in morning sun, can feel cosy and intimate by evening. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.

Extraordinary response to light

Extraordinary response to light

We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Neutral Paint Schemes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The “just right” color! After having lived with white walls for awhile, I was ready to add some warmth to the walls without brining in too much color. Slipper Satin was just the right color and the perfect neutral.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time saving We bought the paint to refreshen up a wall that had been scuffed when our kitchen was fitted. Amazingly we didn’t need to repaint the whole wall, the colour match was so perfect we were able to retouch the areas that needed attention. A huge job actually took less than an hour. So impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Neutral color The perfect neutral color. It picks up grey or cream tones depending on its surroundings. Love it! Light and clean looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality paint Stunning colour & depth, looks great in the bathroom and hallway. A tad expensive but overall a thumbs up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coverage and quality Amazing coverage. Comparable costs once you realise one coat is sufficient… and no roller splatter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely paint Outstanding. Lovely color and always a joy to paint with. Love how it goes on and love how it looks dry. It’s the perfect off white!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really disapointing colour and quality of paint Really disapointing colour. The tester pot feels like a different shade to the main tin of paint. It comes out a lot creamier with strong hints of yellow tones - a more intense magnolia which isn't great. I swapped brands to get a differnt shade of neutral and noticed the quality of F&B paint sadly isn't half as good as Paper & Paint Library.
