Green Smoke

No.47

A dark and smoky green

A smoky green blue, this colour was popular in interiors during the late 19th century. It has an irresistibly inviting deepness and weathered familiarity when used in exterior situations, while evoking calm and serenity when used inside.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Off-White

Green Smoke is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 189.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful Your colors are undoubtedly beautiful... The price and unavailability (only one store) in my state stopped me from using it to paint our house. I would like to use it but it is just to expensive for a project of this scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable really I think I read all the reviews before starting. And I couldn’t believe how many people were satisfied. Then I painted my wall in green smoke and understood. Perfect Is really the only word. You just want to touch the walls all day! I’m an official farrow and ball enthousiaste and proud to be!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice colour After trying a few sample pots, decided green smoke wasn’t for us. However loved, loved, loved the sample of Inchyra blue. It has so much depth and presence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from F&B is wonderful. mixed feeling about the color I used modern emulsion for a bright small study with one South facing window and one North facing window. I have somewhat mixed feelings about how the color turned out. In the early morning the color is a lovely mysterious blueish green reminiscent of a lagoon. But by midday it becomes more green and dull and very much veers into army green, which I don't like so much. I just wish it had a little more blue in it. My husband said it is a bit oppressive and I have to agree. Now I'm trying to relegate it as much as possible to the background by using bright colors against it. FB had a blog post saying bright warm colors really pop against this and that is right. I've found that teal, orange, red, gold and big black and white photography work really well to break up this color, and are actually super necessary. In my picture I've tried out a red Ikea curtain(which I'm actually going to switch out for orange). Pools of light help too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous colour I saw this colour in my nephews house and have been lusting after it ever since. I nearly changed my mind as I thought it looked a bit murky on the test patch. So glad I decided to risk it. It is a very classy, smoky, natural green. Very happy.
