A gentle mid grey beige
Neither too yellow, nor too grey, Drop Cloth is the traditional name for the indispensable painter's dust sheet which this muted colour embodies. A nod to our painters and decorators, this mid grey beige is the perfect contrast to our slightly lighter Shaded White and Shadow White, creating a trio of colours that sit effortlessly together in modern and traditional homes, both large and small.

Lovely product, but......
We have used Farrow and Ball throughout our house for many years and you can not beat the quality and finish, we have been delighted with every choice we have made. We have just redecorated our sitting room and used Shadow White Estate Emulsion on the walls, and Drop Cloth on two chimney breasts within the same room hoping to create a subtle contrast - but the difference between the two is minimal, you can hardly tell the difference where we had hoped to create a feature. Quite sad really, the first time in many years we have felt disappointed in the result.

Mid tones undercoat turned drop cloth to be slightly green
My husband and I use farrow and ball paints for long time now and we love the quality.
We decided to paint our new bespoke kitchen with drop cloth after testing it on piece of oak- it looked exactly as described- gray beige, mushroom colour.
But when we painted our oak kitchen with mid tone undercoat (twice as advised on the website) and then twice with estate eggshell emulsion, it is a different result. It has ”greenish” tone to it.
I wonder if the undercoat gave it “greenish” tone - it is a bit of a mystery.
Still happy with the quality.
