A fresh iconic green

Cooking Apple Green is a Farrow & Ball classic which always feels charmingly familiar and, like all greens, creates the feeling of health and vigour. It has a rich, old fashioned look in darker situations, but often feels much fresher and brighter in well lit rooms and when contrasted with a bright white.

The finest ingredients

The finest ingredients

We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.

Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good.
– Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder

We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Deeper, richer colours

Deeper, richer colours

Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.

We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. The same space that feels bright and airy in morning sun, can feel cosy and intimate by evening. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.

Extraordinary response to light

Extraordinary response to light

We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Interior and exterior finishes

Interior and exterior finishes

From walls, floors and furniture to radiators, skirtings and sheds, our range of paint finishes can help you transform almost any surface in your home (and outside it, too).

We even have multi-surface finishes like Dead Flat® and Full Gloss, so you can tackle walls, woodwork and metal at the same time.

Our comprehensive range is comprised of paint finishes that not only look beautiful, but offer different practical benefits. Designed for a variety of different surfaces, each finish is compatible with our high-performance Primers & Undercoats to ensure exceptional coverage, adhesion and depth of colour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most beautiful soft green! I am very content with Cooking Apple Green. It is a soft, mild and classic green that changes beautifully during the day. It is especially beautiful in the evening, in the light of lamps. The colour creates a very pleasant and calming atmosphere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely bright fresh green Absolutely loved this colour but it isn't the right one for our present project. Maybe somewhere else in the house. It is a lovely fresh green. I definitely want to use it somewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour! This is gorgeous paint. I love Cooking Apple Green! I painted our hall in the emulsion and loved it so much that I recently bought the exterior eggshell for outside wooden doors. It looks stunning and goes on so well, no drips or flaking, like all Farrow and Ball paints. Thank you for a fresh, calm and soothing colour all over my house!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even more beautiful on the wall This color is prettier in person than it is online or on the card. I love it so much I want to roll around on the wall. F&B paint is the best. Expensive and WORTH IT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage, long lasting finish Purchased 18 months ago for the exterior of a summerhouse. Has been through an intense heatwave and two winters. Still looking great; just having to recover a couple of bits of beading around glass in the door, which can sit in water in the rain / winter, and get full sun during the Summer months. Paint is easy to apply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Neutral. Peaceful. Love it This is the neutral I have been looking for! My dining room is open to my living room with a large cased opening. Originally I did it in Vardo. Gorgeous but not "it". Tried out Arsenic which was AMAZING, but not the right color choice sitting between the kitchen (Treron cabinets and Pointing walls) and my SW Alabaster living room. Cooking Apple Green is a perfect choice for showcasing everything else. It takes a backseat with a calming tone but such an inviting one! We did use the new Dead Flat sheen. Highly Recommend.
