A fresh iconic green
Cooking Apple Green is a Farrow & Ball classic which always feels charmingly familiar and, like all greens, creates the feeling of health and vigour. It has a rich, old fashioned look in darker situations, but often feels much fresher and brighter in well lit rooms and when contrasted with a bright white.

1930's hallway
In our 1930's house, we decided to refer to the classic 30's sea foam green and ivory combination with cooking apple walls, paired with new white woodwork. The results are lovely.
The hallway is extensive, so cooking apple green is the most visible colour in the house. We were nervous, wondering if we should choose a more neutral shade, but the results constantly delight us. In the morning, the colour is a true sea foam green, afternoon it warms up, evening it deepens to an elegant gray green, almost olive.
(I agree, it would be great if F&B sold 1 litre tins! Touch ups have been expensive)

Lovely, natural colour
We picked about 10 matchpots from various paint manufacturers for our new kitchen which has oak units and grey slate floor / dark grey worktops, white woodwork. This colour won and the result is perfect. 3 coats were required; the first one didn't really give a good representation of the final result, so you will need 2 - 3 coats to get the full effect. The colour has an almost chalky softness and natural hue i.e. doesn't have the 'chemical' appearance of some other paints, but keeps the room light and bright. Really pleased with this shade, and the matchpot has now gone to a friend who thinks it might be ideal for her living room.
