A protective olive green

This mid-century modern green is a darker version of the much loved archive colour, Olive. Perfect for those who want to embrace stronger colour in the home, its sober tone creates rooms that feel calm and serene - especially when combined with soft pinks and browns. Named after Japanese tea leaves, Bancha, like a cup of green tea, provides a feeling of security.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Shaded White

Bancha is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 83.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous olive green We used this is on the panels in our office/spare room. Such a beautiful and sophisticated green. We paired this with shaded white on the wall above the panels. Looking forward to working from home in a more tranquil environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour I have bought the Bancha sample pot with the intention of painting my new stairs with this colour once they are fitted. It is a beautiful shade of green will I think will be perfect in my stone cottage. I will be purchasing the modern eggshell since my friend used this paint for the stairs in her shop, they are heavily used and the paint has performed brilliantly on the treads with only one recoat in 3 years. I have used Farrow and Ball paint before and know it is lovely to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality paint After looking up on line for a good quality paint I decided to take a chance on F & B. It was not a cheap choice compaired to other brands but I wanted a paint that will give me a good end result. The end result is excellent. Very easy to apply with brush and roller and very good cover. I will use F & B paint in my future projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Calming and resilient I painted my kitchen cabinets in Bancha a year ago. I pretty amateur at painting wood but came out well and easy to retouch when there are any scrapes thanks to heavy pots and pans. Creates a lovely calming kitchen alongside brass handles, bamboo worktops and Off White walls.
