Duck Green

Duck Green is from our new Colour by Nature palette, created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum to bring the true colours of nature into your home.

A smart deep green

Named after the deep green plumage of a mallard, Duck Green is a wonderful reminder of the exquisite colours of nature. Strong but subdued, it offers a contemporary alternative to charcoal shades for modern homes, and makes a warm and welcoming pair with Deep Reddish Brown on woodwork.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Ash Grey

Duck Green is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 180.

Back in 2010, we moved to an entirely water based range of finishes, becoming the first in the industry to do so. These low-odour, low-VOC finishes are easy to clean without harmful solvents. They are also certified child- and baby-safe in accordance with Safety of Toys Part 3: Migration of certain elements (EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021).

Exclusions: Casein Distemper, Wood Floor Primer & Undercoat, Wood Knot & Resin Blocking Primer & Undercoat, and Metal Primer & Undercoat.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich, multi-dimensional Duck Green is a gem Our home office feels like you're walking through a forest with Duck Green walls and Oval Room Blue ceilings. These colors are so lush it feels like you could sink your fingers into them on the wall. Absolutely gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely rich colour! We had tried many shades of mid green to darker colours… but once we tried this colour… it was perfect. The paint shows different hues during the day… so rich and warm! It’s almost velvety once on the wall of our dining room! This colour goes well with our picture rail / skirting board, that’s in Tunsgate Green… a great match!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous colour I was always rather dubious of using any dark colours. Chose this duck green, it’s just the most beautiful colour; it appears different during various times of the day. Such a cosy colour. I was worried it may make the room dark, but it doesn’t. I absolutely love it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous colour Wonderful colour. Painted one feature wall behind the bed in a bedroom which is north facing and it’s gorgeous . Deep and rich but somehow the colour just glows in natural and artificial light. Since it’s Farrow and Ball the quality of the pigment and the finish speak for themselves. Delighted with the results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warning re finishes. Used in my son's bedroom. This is a lovely dark rich colour and very effective with a white or off- white. However, initally was going to use Modern Emulsion as more hard wearing but the effect of direct sunshine on a painted wall really enhanced the sheen which gave it a feeling of old railway station waiting rooms! Changed to estate emulsion for a softer and less shiny finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From Pigeon to Duck Green! We were ready for a change and we certainly got it with Duck Green! We have lots of white, windows and reflective furniture so the strong contrasts of Duck Green made the rooms lively and inviting. We used Modern Emulsion on the walls and Estate Emulsion to paint the lampshades. The same color but different sheen worked very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My front door A duck green front door was the first decision I made for my house. Everything else fell into place after that. The colour invites you in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Duck Green is Stunning Used Duck Green for a repaired old oak back door, (North West Facing). It has come out bright and rich, and has a lovely depth of colour. It was quite streaky to paint with, so although we only used 2 coats, it could really do with a third coat. We used Skimmed milk white, also from Nature palette range for the frame and it compliments duck green very well. Overall, very pleased.
