Broccoli Brown

Broccoli Brown is from our new Colour by Nature palette, created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum to bring the true colours of nature into your home.

A quiet dark stone

Broccoli Brown is a quiet dark stone colour that sits effortlessly alongside natural materials such as weathered wood or flagstone floors. Its muted quality makes it ideally suited to studies, where its reserved tone serves as the ideal backdrop, especially when taken over the ceiling as well as the walls.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Orange Coloured White

Broccoli Brown is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely paint for office Was delivered damaged though and I lost about 10% of the paint. Still had enough though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb coverage Bought this to paint a shed. The last paint was also F and B but darker in colour. Nevertheless it covered very well with one coat and if it is anything like last time will last 10 years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful finish! ‘Dead Salmon’ didn’t fill me with confidence but the description is strangely accurate... dull, lifeless but unique and captivating. I have had so many compliments since painting an old, tired dresser - it looks amazing! Don’t let the title put you off, there’s nothing dead about this salmon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks Annette Once again Annette at the Guildford shop has weaved her magic. I wanted to paint a little bureau in a guest room to go with the Dimity walls and Oxford Stone woodwork. I had used the Sanderson Port Issac fabrics which were quite bold. Annette suggested Brocchli Brown which initially seemed a bit boring but having trusted her in the past I went ahead and I'm thrilled with the result. BB is far from boring it's a warm milk chocolate. It made the desk stand out but blended in with all the colours. Before and after photos and some of the finished room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hold judgement until the second coat! When the first coat went in it was a very reddish brown... not at all as the photographs show. I panicked and almost changed my mind but persevered... I’d rather a slow burn than love it and go off it with In 5 minutes. You really can’t see the true colour until the second coat is on and dry. It’s a gorgeously warm mid-dark brown. I love it!
