A gentle aqua

Our most popular shade of aqua is a lighter version of an archived Farrow & Ball colour, Powder Blue. Pale Powder has an unparalleled softness and in north facing rooms can read almost as a delicate grey, but it is rarely cold due to the addition of green pigment. It is a great favourite for use in pretty attic bedrooms where it can be brushed onto both ceiling and walls to create an airy feeling of light and space.

Complementary white: Wimborne White

The finest ingredients

The finest ingredients

We’re dedicated to perfecting the art of paint. At our home in Dorset, we combine the finest ingredients, 75 years of experience and technical precision to help you create beautiful spaces that stay beautiful. Even in our colour rich paints, less than 8% of the tin is the colour. The other 92% is what creates the quality, depth and extraordinary response to light that transforms your home.

Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good.
– Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder

We use twelve exclusive pigments, all specifically selected for their colour intensity. We take colour seriously, so naturally, we only accept the very best. By using these same pigments to make every colour in our palette, all our shades combine effortlessly, making it easy for you to put together a cohesive colour scheme.

Deeper, richer colours

Deeper, richer colours

Packed with pigment for an extraordinary response to every kind of light.

We add generous helpings of rich pigment to create our signature look – deep colours with complex undertones. The same space that feels bright and airy in morning sun, can feel cosy and intimate by evening. Our teams design each shade under every kind of light, so it will be perfectly balanced in every setting.

Extraordinary response to light

Extraordinary response to light

We spend months carefully crafting and testing each of our paint colours to make sure they share our signature extraordinary response to light. This beautiful reaction to changing light, like bringing out different undertones or shifting intensity, is what makes our paint so special.

Interior and exterior finishes

Interior and exterior finishes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Subtle but gorgeous! Beautiful subtle ‘seaglass’ colour which has totally lifted my previously bland white kitchen. Somewhere between blue & green depending on light, like the sea itself. My decorator said it was a dream to use. And it’s wipe clean! Not cheap but I still have half a tin left and love the colour so much am thinking of applying it in bathroom too. Thanks F&B!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead flat the way to go Lovely finish in dead flat. We went for Skylight as this was a bit blue for our design but lovely colour

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead Flat Pale Powder Used on walls & skirtings, two coats easy to apply and delighted with the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick despatch and good sized can. Decent size pot to allow painting different area. Farrow and Ball paints are so good they change colour and tone in different light so it is good to have enough for a few patches for light and shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bathroom paint Lovely soft apple green for north facing bathroom. Pity not available in a 1 lite tin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely colour, just the right shade My photos show the subtle difference between this blue and a bright white. It applies really well with a brush. My only peeve with this particular tin was how the pigment wasn't mixed to well (see photo) I shook the tin before use, stirred it, yet it still smeared black (all the way through the tin) A 750ml tin did four of these wardrobe doors, multiple coats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’m In Love Oh wow. Just the most stunning, beautiful paint. I have bought “top quality” here in the US and Farrow and Ball is leaps and bounds beyond in quality and color. I am afraid I have spoiled myself for all other paint!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect paint Since trying Farrow and Ball paint a few years ago I have not bought any other brand. The loading and covering and expertly compiled pallet are unbeatable. Pale powder is a perfect shade of aqua that works well with green blue and pine furniture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pale Powder Kitchen Door I recently painted over one of our pine kitchen doors, then started regretting it - until I found Pale Powder. Love the soft blue against the pinkish walls. It also tones well with a powder blue island in my kitchen (the other cupboards are cream). Painted the Pale Powder door frame, window sills, door frame of another pine kitchen door, and the pantry door in Dimity as I already had some - and I’m really pleased with the result. It’s like a pearl colour against the blue and pink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful soft green-blue powder colour I painted my bedroom wardrobes pale powder to compliment the green-blue farrow and ball walls. They bring a dynamic but calming feeling to the room. The room is east facing and the colours come across green and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Perfect colour for my bedroom, warm and cosy. Room looks fresh. Beautiful again dark wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful serene color for bedroom I tried maybe nine color samples including behr and Lowe colors. Behr was this awful flat lurid color that looked like a bright hard turquoise but was supposed to be mint. This color pale powder has depth and looks great with my paintings of nature. Only thing I can say is that the light f &b primer I used over the turquoise fiasco was a nightmare to cover with this paint. It took 3-4 coats to cover the light primer whereas covering the pre existing greige was one coat. I do have textured walls .
