Archive Collection: Saxon Green

A light, traditional green

With a little more yellow than Breakfast Room Green, and less intensity than Yeabridge Green, Saxon Green has a traditional feel and a soft, lived-in quality. This historic shade harks back to a time before British Standard Colours were established in 1931, when it was regularly found on paint makers’ cards.

Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones

Complementary white: Lime White

Archive Collection: Saxon Green is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.

Back in 2010, we moved to an entirely water based range of finishes, becoming the first in the industry to do so. These low-odour, low-VOC finishes are easy to clean without harmful solvents. They are also certified child- and baby-safe in accordance with Safety of Toys Part 3: Migration of certain elements (EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021).

Exclusions: Casein Distemper, Wood Floor Primer & Undercoat, Wood Knot & Resin Blocking Primer & Undercoat, and Metal Primer & Undercoat.

Every one of our paint colours is available in a range of durable interior and exterior paint finishes, each rigorously tested to ensure an exceptional depth of colour and long-lasting finish. For the very best results, we always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat – see above for the correct tone for this colour.

All Farrow & Ball finishes except Limewash contain isothiazolinones, which may produce an allergic reaction. Farrow & Ball Limewash contains calcium hydroxide which can cause severe damage in contact with skin or eyes. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Look at the picture, covering up the strong yellow, and this is only the first coat on. Beautiful color, excellent coverage. We decided to paint our Railings to contrast the green, both we love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint Having used Saxon Green in a previous house, I thought it would be perfect as part of kitchen redecoration, and I was not disappointed. It's a classic shade, and good, thick paint which applies easily and covers well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saxon Green relaxing living room Saxon Green really works in our living room. Our house was originally the old Police Station & Court house built in 1830s. The living room was originally the old stables which looks out onto courtyard and garden. With three large windows Saxon Green extends the space of the living room & drawing room feel with a classic warming glow. The estate emulsion was very easy to use with good coverage in two coats. We always use F&B for best results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant depth This is a beautiful colour and looks great teamed up as the main wall colour with archive above the picture rail - we used slipper satin for the coving, picture rails and skirting boards and the overall effect is amazing. It has really lifted our room. Our Edwardian terrace has never looked so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint, expensive but economical. Love this paint, it goes a long way and looks a lovely finish, we have it in the kitchen and I can even wash the wall down, without it spoiling the sheen or the appearance.
