Orangery

No.70

An intriguing orange-yellow

Appearing more orange or more yellow depending on the light, this beautifully singular shade is reminiscent of an 18th-century colour much used in orangeries. It brings an enveloping warmth to walls, especially in south-facing rooms that are flooded with light throughout the day.

Orangery is part of our archive collection so sample pots are not available, and orders cannot be returned.

Back in 2010, we moved our entire range to an eco-friendly water base that’s low odour, low VOC and child-safe, becoming the first in the industry to do so. Easy to clean without harmful solvents, in tins that can be recycled again and again, our paints help to reduce the environmental impact of redecorating your home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and vibrant We had this in our last house in a naturally well lit Living Room. It looked stunning. In our new home we wanted to try not to copy what we had before but realised Orangery is the perfect solution to liven up a poorly lit Dining Room the previous owners had painted a dark green. The result looks fantastic, and really suits our dark wood furniture. We now realise it may also be the ideal colour to tone with our Edwardian tiled hall floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complex color; incredible paint I had been eyeing the fan deck chip of Orangery for years and finally took the plunge and bought a quart for our powder room. The color changes dramatically depending on light and time of day. Midday is bright sunny orange, gray days and evening it’s got a lot of yellow and ochre and brown. I wish the color was more clear, like St Giles blue, but it remains lively and interesting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft orange We used this in our kitchen, which had been left a cold, pale blue by the last residents, so it was quite a change! It has transformed a small room with not too much natural light into a warm, welcoming, homely space. Offset our dark wood worktops perfectly. Quite a lot of yellow in the paint, which you can see in the first coat. It is orange, no doubt about it, but soft enough to use in a small space and as an all-over wall covering rather than just an accent colour.
