Oxford Stone

No. 264

Oxford Stone 4.9 5 14 14
Lovely warm colour Read other reviews before purchasing and all sounded good, can honestly say it has lived up to our expectations and is good match for the paint chart which isn't always the case. Looked for warmth and both Oxford Stone and London Stone have produced an overall warm feeling in both hall and livingroom. 15 April 2014
Great alternative to French Gray Used this colour to redecorate kitchen after five years of French Gray. Shade recommended by Peter Giles of F&B for which thanks, excellent suggestion. Not radically different but lighter, brighter and more elegant and good to get away from the ubiquitous French Gray. Probably suits the period house better, goes great with wooden work tops and windows and our terracotta floor tiles. Used Modern Emulsion, great application. Overall, very happy indeed thank you. 25 March 2014
This product is great to use This colour is warm and cossy. It was easy to apply and dried quickly. It was delivered by Farrow and Ball very quickly so I didn't have to wait to long to finish my room. 28 February 2014
great with london stone. Love this colour - in large lounge together with London Stone - works really well. Only one problem. Two people have copied it - hmmm. 11 November 2013
Brilliant! I loved this product, the colour was just perfect, and the paint is rich and a real joy to work with. Fantastic to revive furniture. 08 October 2013
A pleasure to work with Having just recently ( 2 weeks ago) used the floor paint on our stairs I can't judge durability yet, but the stairs look great and the paint was great to work with. 11 August 2013
Totally worth it I'm so pleased with our Oxford Stone paint - I wasn't sure if Farrow and Ball would be any better than less pricey alternatives, but it is. The texture of the paint, the coverage (we could almost have got away with one coat) and the beautiful finish (the colour has real depth to it) - all so much better than any of the other paints we used. It's really warm without being too dark. Perfect for our dining room. 26 June 2013
Beautiful warm tone for a East light bedroom Applied in a 12' x 11' double bedroom which has a tall but narrow window letting in morning light from the east so can appear cooler in light after mid morning Having spent many tester pot hours and months and layer upon layer across the Dulux and Crown range I tried the Farrow and Ball Estate Emulsion of Oxford Stone. This is the first time I have used Farrow and Ball and can honestly say I am truly impressed. The mid tones primer provided the perfect foundation in texture and tone for the finish of the top coat. The paint is not thixotropic as is Dulux but more like Crown. This is still easy to work with. I love the colour. In the past I tried creams, off whites, bright custard yellows, tinge of pale green, dark chocolate brown to try to give definition to this bedroom but always the chosen colours appeared flat or dark. Oxford Stone provides the right shade with a warm tone it needs to stop it feeling stark. This colour is not a cold stone but a light malty stone which changes throughout the day as the paint is so obviously packed with pigment. The pigment depth is unmatched and allows you to touch in the paint with confidence as the colour blends effortlessly. Think of cocoa's pinky tinge when you pour the milk on as opposed to the flat brown of milky coffee. Thank you so much Farrow and Ball. Now on to the rest of the house which pales into insignificance compared to this now fabulously cosy yet colourful room whatever the time of day 22 May 2013
