Down Pipe

No. 26

* Samples available in Estate Emulsion only. Colours on screen may vary from actual paint.

Down Pipe, a dark lead grey, has definite blue undertones that prevent it from feeling too hard. Originally inspired by the colour used to paint downpipes and guttering it has been embraced for use inside the home with fanatical zeal! Fabulous as a background to art, and extremely effective for use in halls to create a dramatic entrance to a home. Dark Tones Undercoat.

Chris 60 I love this paint, coverage is really good, tried tester pot, will now order 5 litre can. 27 April 2015
Painting this in full gloss looks very different... This grey has a slight green tinge, which only really comes out if it is put against other clean greys, which I haven't really found at F&B, but have in our house from other suppliers. We painted it in full gloss in our kitchen, and I am still warming to it as the sheen is very unforgiving (even on new walls!) and a bit pub-by... 22 April 2015
Perfect for sitting room Used modern emulsion in northeast-facing large sitting room in Victorian house. Looks great and somehow makes our slightly old, mismatched furniture look much better. Ranges from greeny/blue grey in morning to very dark grey almost black in evenings. Kept white above the picture rail and ceiling so not too overpowering and doesn't feel like we have lost any light. 19 April 2015
Great colour but poor coverage Pleased with colour but terrible coverage. Would have needed five coats, so watery. Compared tester with same colour from Valspar. Chose Valspar. 18 March 2015
Beautiful paint but has a green tinge As always this is great quality lovely paint that went on effortlessly leaving a superb finish. The only downfall is in certain light this colour looks more green that dark grey. 28 February 2015

Excellent colour & easy to use We almost didn't purchase after reading of people's concerns that this paint isn't easy to use however we did purchase & pleased we did. Fabulous colour our decorator was very impressed with the results as are we! 09 February 2015
Beautiful Colour I still havent figured out exactly why but Farrow and Ball colours are definetely a cut above any other big brands. The colour is vibrant and has depth to it rather than be flat which in dark grey is simply an outstanding achievement. I am a serial DIYer and love love their products and this colour is a joy to paint. Its so many colours at once! with sun shining its a silvery medium grey, later on its a graphite grey and at night a nearly black colour and its always a lovely iconic colour. Every year i obsess over a new colour and this grey is definetely the 2015 colour. i used in bedroom and a small area in living room and it adds such a touch of class. Its not on the recommended colour palette but try it with Dix blue and Slipper Satin. The combination of Down pipe and dix blue on walls and slipper satin on wooden furniture created this amazing vibe in my bedroom which is trendy cosy modern and yet stylish. 08 January 2015
