Brinjal 4.6 5 28 28
Modern emulsion great for a bathroom Our very small bathroom is painted in Brinjal modern emulsion and looks very smart and grown up. This is a great colour: strong, bold, and very striking for a small room. The modern emulsion has a slight shine to it which makes it perfect for a bathroom - despite the steam and condensation, it has lasted well and hasn't gone streaky. Highly recommended. And yes, it definitely darkens as it dries, as other reviewers have said. 17 November 2014
Don't judge before dry I was a little concerned over the texture of this paint as it looked a little grainy in the tin. After the first coat on my cast iron radiator I really had concerns over what the finished colour would be as it certainly looked very brown. After the second coat it still looked like it was a different colour to the sample but after 4 hours had dried to a finish consistent with my trial pot. Overall I am very pleased with the result. 29 October 2014
Rich colour Love the colour. First time we've used F&B. As we needed something washable (chimney breast) after reviewing the F&B literature we elected for the 'Modern' Emulsion. Little disappointed that's it's not as matt as we had hoped for but pleased overall. 22 October 2014
A lovely rich colour. We used this product on our chimney breast as a feature wall. The painter used a few coats as after the first coat it looked red! When dry, is a lovely, deep, rich aubergine; just what I was after. Actually doesn't look as deep in the photo I have attached. Very pleased with the effect. 09 July 2014
Brinjal - Depth of colour fantastic! Brinjal estate emulsion is really cool! I've used it for a feature wall, and although it took 3 coats, the depth of colour is fantastic. A real deep aubergine colour with a modern Matt finish. Be patient, don't worry that it looks pinkish and patchy at first, it soon turn into the true colour after a few coats. It is the exact colour of my sofa and compliments the chalky pale olive walls in the rest of the room. I purchased 5 small pots because the 2.5 litre tin was far too much for one wall. I love Farrow & Ball paint, once you use it you will not purchase other paints. I was introduced to it by a friend who had painted her wooden kitchen units - what a triumph! Since my daughter has done the same. 05 July 2014
never before have I ever had to do 2 coats of gloss- due to this it appears excessively glossly I have used farrow and Ball paints for the last 12 years on our location house and have been very pleased with the results especially all the emulsions and the old eggshells. The modern water based paint that I have used is thin and very streaky in use. please tell we why it has gone this way? 05 July 2014
Looks good. The paint arrived quite quickly. I am still making the models so haven't had the chance to try it as yet, but have no reason to doubt that the product will live up to expectations. Purchased because recommended by the Penryn Society. 13 June 2014
Beautiful finish Despite recommendations, I used Brinjal Dead Flat on my hall furniture and I'm more than happy with the results. I was a bit sceptical about water-based paints but it was easy to use and dried to a lovely finish. I can't recommed F&B paints highly enough. I have to say that I think using the F&B Undercoat really helped with the beautiful end result. 14 March 2014
